Rice Krispie Treat Easter Eggs

It’s funny how attached you can become to things without really knowing it. My family childhood dog, Dallas (the cutest little black tiny-toy poodle ever) passed away last weekend. He was 14 years old (not young by any means), so it was not totally unexpected.
Since I grew up with him, it had a very profound effect on me. It really is hard to lose a pet. I lost my 1 1/2-year-old Maltese, Versailles (who I have previously mentioned), to a congenital birth defect. It was a very sudden loss. One I was certainly not ready for.
Even though I had somewhat mentally prepared myself for Dallas’ possible passing, it still kind of came as a shock. I guess it is one of those things that never gets easier. Death is such a mystery, that it can only really deeply affect us.
We often do not realize how lucky we are to have someone until we lose them. It really puts things in perspective. The important thing is to spread love to as many people as possible, because this life is short, and the only thing that really matters is how much we love. Just some food for thought. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter Holiday!
These little Rice Krispie treats are very fun and easy to make. You do not have to decorate them, but I think it makes them so much more festive.

Plastic easter eggs: You can use regular and mini sized eggs.
Melt butter in a double boiler or glass bowl (over simmering pot).
Add marshmallows, and stir until melted.
Remove from heat, and add vanilla.
Place rice crispies in a separate bowl, and add marshmallow mixture. Stir until well combined.
Spray hands and egg with nonstick cooking spray. Fill first half of egg with the rice krispie treat.
Repeat with the other half, only allow it to overthrow a little. (This will help them adhere better).
Press the top and bottom together.
Open it back up, and you should have a Rice Krispie treat egg!

You can roll some in sanding sugar or sprinkles.
You can also dip them in colored almond bark, and top/dip them in sprinkles. The possibilities are endless!
