Homemade Gummy Candy

06.-63I bet you’ve never thought about making your own gummy candy before. I know it’s rarely something people think about doing. They’re so readily available at every gas station, movie theater, and Target store you go to, that you probably think ‘why bother’? I bet you also never realized actually how easy they are to make. They really are!
They only call for three ingredients, and the best part is that you can add some personality by using any fun candy mold that you have.
Obviously, I decided to stay with the theme, and feature another candy this month because who doesn’t love candy? I feel like I sometimes neglect it on this blog, and now it is time to give candy some attention.
These gummy candies only call for gelatin, Jello, and water. That is it, and oh yeah, a microwave. You can add some citric acid to them if you like sour candies. As you know, I prefer all things sweet. If you want to impress your friends, or if you just want to try something new, then you should definitely give this recipe a glance.
Recipe:

I chose the watermelon Jolly Rancher gelatin
Spray your silicon mold with nonstick cooking spray
Combine both of the gelatins in a microwave-safe bowl.
Add the water (cold)
Whisk to combine
Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes to allow the gelatin to incorporate the water.

Microwave mixture for 30-second intervals, until the sugar, has completely dissolved.
Pipe or pour mixture into each mold cavity. Refrigerate for at least
20 minutes to allow the gummies to set.
Squeeze the sides of each cavity to pop the candy out.
